Jupyter Notebook

Jupyter Notebook is used to create interactive notebook documents. Some examples of its specific uses are data organization, data visualization, and live code implementation in notebooks.

Below are instructions on how to access Jupyter Notebook on VCL:
1. Go to VCL.
2. Click on the red button that says “Make a Reservation”.
3. If you are not logged in already, click on the “Proceed to Login” button.
4. Sign in with your NCSU account (if a pop-up appears asking to allow notifications, you can just block them).
5. Click on the “New Reservation” button.
6. Click on the dropdown menu and scroll till you see the “PCOM-Lab (AVD)” option.
7. Select that option and click on the “Connect”.
8. A pop-up box will appear showing instructions on how to connect to PCOM-Lab in AVD. Click on the computer icon that appears with the name “PCOM-Lab” below it.
9. If you are not signed into AVD, then you will be asked to sign in. Please do so with your NCSU account.
10. Once you are in AVD, you will see at least on computer icon. Click on the one with the name “PCOM-Lab”.
11. You may have to wait a few minutes for PCOM-Lab to set up. Afterwards, you will be asked to sign in again. Please do so with your NCSU account.
12. Once you are signed in and the machine fully loads, you should now be connected to the machine. You can use the search bar and type “Jupyter” and the app should appear.
