    Description

MATLAB, short for “matrix laboratory,” is a high-level programming language and platform designed for scientists and engineers to analyze and design systems and products. It’s a proprietary software app from MathWorks uses matrices and arrays instead of individual numbers to express computational mathematics. MATLAB integrates computation, visualization, and programming to help users solve problems and express solutions in mathematical notation.

Here are some of the things MATLAB can do:
Data analysis: Organize large amounts of data and create visual representations using graphs, pie charts, and other formats
Modeling and simulation: Create models and prototypes
Scientific and engineering graphics: Create graphics for scientific use
Application development: Build graphical user interfaces and other applications.

Below are instructions on how to access Matlab on VCL:
    1. Go to VCL.
    2. Click on the red “Make a Reservation” button.
    3. select the “Proceed to Login” button if you are not logged in already.
    4. Sign in with your NCSU account (if a pop-up appears asking to allow notifications, you can block them).
    5. Click on the “New Reservation” button.
    6. Click on the dropdown menu until you see the “NCSU (AVD)” option.
    7. Select that option and click on the “Connect”.
    8. A pop-up box will appear showing instructions on how to connect to NCSU in (AVD). Click on the computer icon with the name “NCSU (AVD)” below it.
    9. You will be asked to sign in if not signed into AVD. Please do so with your NCSU account.
    10. Once in AVD, you will see at least one computer icon. Click on the one with the name “NCSU (AVD)”.
    11. You may have to wait a few minutes for NCSU AVD to set up. Afterward, you will be asked to sign in again. Please do so with your NCSU account.
    12. You should be connected Once you are signed in and the machine fully loads. You can use the search bar and type “Matlab,” and the app should appear.
