Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project is used to assist with project management. Some examples of its specific uses are assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, and managing budgets.

Below are instructions on how to access Microsoft Project on MS Developer Tools:
1. Click on this link.
2. You will have to sign in with your NCSU account.
3. If you have not gone into MS Developer Tools before, you will have to fill in some information for academic verification.
4. For the school name, type out “North Carolina State University at Raleigh (Raleigh, NC) and click on the option when you see it.
5. Fill in the rest of the empty required fields.
6. You may have to do a puzzle for human verification as well.
7. Click the “Next” button”.
8. Click on the checkbox that is next to “I agree to…”.
9. Click on the “Verify academic status and accept terms” button.
10. You should now be on the home portal page.
11. On the left sidebar menu, click on the down arrowhead next to “Learning resources”.
12. Click on the “Software option”.
13. A list of several software should appear. Click on the search bar and type “Project”.
14. Click on the latest version.
15. A pop should appear showing some information on the app.
16. Click on “View Key”.
17. Once the key loads, copy the entire key (the key will look like a long string of characters with hyphens in between).
18. Click on the “Download button”.
19. If a pop-up appears asking for you to approve the download, approve it.
20. Wait for the download to finish (it usually takes about 5-10 minutes).
21. Double click on the installation file to install Project.
22. Follow any instructions that are prompted to you during installation.
23. After installation, open Microsoft Project.
24. Enter the key that you copied earlier to gain full access to the app.
