MySQL Database and MySQL Workbench

MySQL and MySQL Workbench are used for relational database management. Some of their specific uses are database migration, data modeling, and SQL development.

Below are instructions on how to access Matlab on VCL:
1. Go to VCL.
2. Click on the red button that says “Make a Reservation”.
3. If you are not logged in already, click on the “Proceed to Login” button.
4. Sign in with your NCSU account.
5. Click on the “New Reservation” button.
6. Click on the dropdown menu and scroll till you see the “PCOM-Lab (AVD)” option.
7. Click on the “Create Reservation”.
8. Wait for the reservation request to go through (this usually takes a couple of minutes).
9. If you see the “Connect!” button appear, click on it.
10. A pop-up will appear showing you the login information to the virtual machine. Make sure you remember it so you can successfully log in.
11. Follow the instructions here to connect successfully to VCL. (each OS has a different way to connect).
12. You should now be connected to the machine. You can use the search bar and type “MySQL Database” and the app should appear.
