Approved AI Tools for NC State Users
OIT at NC State has approved the following list of recommended AI products for use with Green or Yellow data without the need to submit an ITPC review request. Any use of Red or Purple data will still require an ITPC review request.
IMPORTANT: The use of any tools not listed above is prohibited and will require an ITPC review.
If you are currently using unapproved software or applications with AI capabilities — or plan to use one in the future — please complete our software request form, and we will assist you with the process.
Guidance on Responsible AI Usage
While using AI tools, please remember to:
- Follow NC State’s data security and privacy guidelines.
- Avoid entering confidential, personal, or sensitive university information into public AI tools.
- Review and fact-check AI-generated content before using or sharing it.
- Use AI ethically and transparently in your work and communications.
ChatGPT Teams Account – Poole IT
The Poole IT team has set up a ChatGPT Teams account/workspace for faculty and staff affiliated with Poole.
The subscription is $25 per month, billed annually, with the cost charged to your respective department. The plan renews each year.
If you would like to join the ChatGPT Teams account/workspace, please follow these steps:
- Obtain your department’s project ID (if you don’t already have it).
- Complete our software request form with the required details.
- Once we receive your submission, we will process your request and follow up with next steps.
