Microsoft Access is used to assist in creating database apps. Some examples of its specific uses are providing pre-made forms for data entry, making automations for handling forms, and offering security to the user’s database.

Below are instructions on how to access Microsoft Access on VCL:
1. Go to VCL.
2. Click on the red button that says “Make a Reservation”.
3. If you are not logged in already, click on the “Proceed to Login” button.
4. Sign in with your NCSU account (if a pop-up appears asking to allow notifications, you can just block them).
5. Click on the “New Reservation” button.
6. Click on the dropdown menu and scroll till you see the “PCOM-Lab (AVD)” option.
7. Select that option and click on the “Connect”.
8. A pop-up box will appear showing instructions on how to connect to PCOM-Lab in AVD. Click on the computer icon that appears with the name “PCOM-Lab” below it.
9. If you are not signed into AVD, then you will be asked to sign in. Please do so with your NCSU account.
10. Once you are in AVD, you will see at least on computer icon. Click on the one with the name “PCOM-Lab”.
11. You may have to wait a few minutes for PCOM-Lab to set up. Afterwards, you will be asked to sign in again. Please do so with your NCSU account.
