SAS Viya is SAS’s modern, cloud-native analytics platform that’s designed to run anywhere (on-premises, in the cloud, or hybrid) and handle end-to-end analytics workflows.

SAS Viya is available to students for free, in a cloud-based format tailored specifically for academic use, provided they have a university-affiliated email.

Here’s a clear step-by-step guide for students to sign up for SAS Viya for Learners (cloud-based, free for academic use):

1. Go to the SAS Viya for Learners page – https://www.sas.com/en_us/software/viya-for-learners.html

2. Click “Access for students”. This takes you to the login/sign-up page.

3. Create a SAS Profile (if you don’t have one)

–> Click “Create profile”.
–> Use your university/college email address (this is how SAS confirms you’re a student).
–> Fill in all the required details and click “Create profile”.
–> You’ll get an email — click the link inside to verify your account.

4. Once verified, return to the SAS Viya for Learners page and sign in.

5. Accept the Terms of Use. These confirm it’s for academic, non-commercial purposes only.

6. Launch the Software – You’ll be taken to the SAS Viya home screen in your browser. From here you can:
–> Start SAS Visual Analytics for dashboards and reports
–> Use SAS Studio for programming in SAS, Python, or R
–> Access tutorials and sample datasets

7. Bookmark the page
You can log in anytime from any device — no installation needed.
